Collins Legacy Foundation was born from a mother’s love, a family’s loss, and a decision that one child’s short life would become a lasting legacy of protection and hope for mothers and children across Tanzania.

Collins — A Life That Became a Legacy
Collins was one of twin boys born to our founder, Keckan Rubaba. He was deeply loved by his family and brought immense joy into their lives. Collins lived for only one year. When he passed away, his loss left a pain that words could not easily describe.
But from that pain came a decision: his short life would not be remembered only through grief. His memory would become a reason to protect, support and give hope to other mothers and children.

After experiencing the loss of her own child, Keckan became increasingly aware of the challenges faced by vulnerable mothers and children in Tanzania. Many mothers give birth without the basic necessities they need to care for their newborns. Some face poverty, isolation and difficult circumstances at the very moment when they need support the most.
What started from one family’s personal experience gradually became a bigger vision: to turn compassion into action and pain into protection.
Why We Exist
Our mission is to transform compassion into meaningful action by empowering women, protecting children and supporting vulnerable communities across Tanzania. We believe lasting change is created when people come together — communities, volunteers, organisations, partners and donors — to invest in human dignity and opportunity.
Our approach: we provide practical support while creating pathways toward a safer, more hopeful and more independent future.
We envision a Tanzania where women and children are protected, empowered and given the opportunity to build better futures — developing sustainable programs that do not simply respond to immediate needs, but help communities become stronger over time.
